- Click on “+Join or Start a Meeting
- Enter “YOUR NAME” and click “Continue”
- After hitting “Continue” this will bring you to your meeting start page.
- After getting to your start page we need to update your setting to Block your Mic and Camera. Click the 3 Dots Upper right of the screen.
- This will populate a drop-down menu, hit “Settings”
- Hitting “Settings” will open a new tab, scroll to the bottom and hit advanced
- This will expand the setting and show you “Site Settings” hit the arrow for site settings
- Hitting Site Settings will open up a new area now click on the arrow for “Microphone”
- This will show you're Blocked and Allow settings - Hit the arrow for “ https://meet.google.com:443”
- This will bring up all the options for your Google Meets Click on the allow for Microphone and choose Block. Also, choose the Camera and change to block.
- Your screen will look like the picture shown below.
- Close all open Google Chrome tabs, this will apply the update you just made. Click on the link and get back into your Google Meets. You will notice a notification stating your “Camera and microphone are blocked” this is correct and means your setting is applied.
- This message will show each time you open google meets to remind you that Camera and Mic are blocked. Click Dismiss.
- Click on Join Meeting and now Google meets to view your link that you will give out to who needs to view. I blacked out mine but give them the link and you will be all set to share your screen.
